BIO
Alden is a classical pianist, musician, and artist currently pursuing a piano major at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Specializing in Western classical music, Alden is passionate about interpreting works from Baroque masters like Johann Sebastian Bach to 20th-century visionaries such as Olivier Messiaen. His artistic mission centers on delivering authentic interpretations of these compositions, honoring the composers’ original intentions.
Born and raised in Singapore’s fast-paced, competitive environment, Alden began his musical journey at the age of seven when his parents enrolled him in piano lessons. Although his family was not particularly musical, Singapore’s cultural emphasis on music education greatly influenced his development. What began as a hobby quickly evolved into a profound passion, leading Alden to dedicate himself fully to music from a young age.
A pivotal moment in Alden’s career came in 2023 with his debut at the Lee Foundation Theatre in a NAFA-hosted music platform, solidifying his commitment to a professional career. He has since performed in solo recitals and ensemble settings at prestigious venues such as the Lee Foundation Theatre, NAFA Library, and the National Library. Alden also competed in the 2023 Lucien Wang Competition and earned a Gold Medal at the Asia International Piano Academy & Festival in Korea.
In addition to his solo pursuits, Alden performs regularly with the Vox Camerata Chamber Choir and a community choir, where he also conducts sectional rehearsals. These collaborative experiences reflect his dedication to fostering musical excellence in ensemble settings.
Alden’s approach to music is deeply inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven, whose mastery in transforming simple motifs into expansive musical narratives continues to shape his interpretative style.
With a long-term goal of building a sustainable career, Alden strives to share his artistry with the world, inspiring audiences and nurturing a deeper appreciation for classical music through his performances.
